Street Corner Meetings: Birkenhead & Peterhead

Thank you to all the residents who turned up to my Street Corner Meetings in Peterhead and Birkenhead over the weekend. Street Corner Meetings offer a great changes for me to meet face-to-face with members of our community to discuss issues that are important to them.

During these meetings I discussed Adelaide Brighton Cement’s draft Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP), and what it means to our community.

At these meetings a number of residents also raised their frustration about the impact Adelaide Brighton Cement’s dust emissions are having on their rooftop solar systems.

I have written to the company and asked them to investigate the development of a program to clean residents’ solar panels effected by the plant’s emissions. I will keep the community informed of their response.
